The Debate of “The Selfie”

“Hang on…let me take a selfie”

What are your views on the phenomenon of “The Selfie”, can it be seen as being over confident and self obsessive? Or a portrayal of that persons lack of self-esteem? Selfie

Is it a mask to the outside world conveying a “picture perfect” life and lifestyle? Or does it hold a more insidious meaning?
